Synergy is considered an important and strategic topic for the UNCCD.

Local level synergy workshops Two synergy workshops with a particular focus on the development of methodologies for the involvement of local level stakeholders in the creation of synergies were organized during the biennium 2004 2005, in Kazakhstan and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Other obstacles include slow disbursement of funds, administrative procedures of implementing agencies and lack of staff, time and capacity of national teams to deal with all the NAPA steps.

This programme will also include technology, so that synergy can be maximized.
