The vendors registered provisionally must complete the registration process within three months from the date of provisional registration, otherwise they will be deleted from the vendor database.

A comprehensive review of vendor management conducted in the first quarter of 2004 made recommendations to simplify, streamline and harmonize the vendor registration process and to share this responsibility among the various United Nations organizations.

The study analysed 14 steps in the procurement process from specifications and vendor registration to shipment tracking, invoicing and payments, and found that specifications, supplier registration and requests for information during the tendering process and payments, were the most electronic , while invoicing was the least.
