One keynote speaker would specifically address the statistical aspects of improving monitoring and reporting on implementation.

Clearly, reporting mechanisms between national statistical systems and international agencies need to be improved, including much better coordination within national statistical systems than that which currently pertains.

The compilation was prepared in response to numerous requests by State, scientific and public organizations many international organizations and the State Statistical Committee reporting to the Government, with the support and assistance of UNDP in Tajikistan.

This is higher than the provisional figure provided in the Office's Global Report 2004 as statistical data used for the Global Report is estimated on figures available for the beginning of the reporting period in question.

In 2004, the State Statistical Committee did work to introduce gender indices into statistical reports on agriculture.

This is done by assessing national statistical capacity to report gender statistics to the international statistical system.
