In addition, the Scoreboard of Industrial Development will be regularly updated, with an interval of every two years.

This Scoreboard was produced and published for the first time with the Industrial Development Report (IDR) 2002 2003.

The datasets of the Scoreboard will be available on a CD ROM in the second half of 2005.

This component includes the production and diffusion of the UNIDO Industrial Development Scoreboard and the preparation of competitiveness surveys and diagnoses at national, regional and sectoral levels.

Outputs Publication in 2007 of the Industrial Development Scoreboard, which will constitute the basis for the assessment and benchmarking of national competitive industrial performance and related drivers at global and regional levels.

The UNIDO industrial statistics database is also the empirical basis for UNIDO technical cooperation and research activities and in particular for the Industrial Development Scoreboard, for the database on productivity and the preparation of competitiveness surveys.

This component includes the publication, production, maintenance, updating and expansion of the Industrial Development Scoreboard, which monitors the competitive industrial performances and selected structural drivers in a large number of developing and industrialized countries where the data are available.

In this context, UNIDO will continue to update and use the UNIDO Industrial Development Scoreboard, which provides a periodic assessment of the relative industrial performance of regions and countries, as well as of the main determinants underpinning that performance.

The availability of gender differentiated data would considerably facilitate the work of monitoring women's progress through the African Gender and Development Index, which is a composite of two indicators the Gender Status Index and the African Women's Progress Scoreboard.
