Members and relevant international organizations provide information on their technical cooperation and assistance programmes on a regular basis to the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures Committee, which oversees the implementation of sanitary and phytosanitary measures.

As at the end of 2004, the organization had received 111 notifications of sanitary and phytosanitary measures relating to food and feed produced using recombinant DNA techniques and genetically modified ingredients.
