It formally defines the signals connecting between a DTE ( data terminal equipment ) such as a computer terminal, and a DCE ( data circuit terminating equipment , originally defined as data communication equipment ), such as a modem.

The purchase orders were placed against systems contracts already in place for telecommunications and electronic data processing equipment, generators, prefabricated buildings, engineering and transportation equipment.

Non post requirements, at the maintenance level of 33,800 would cover travel of staff ( 21,100) maintenance of office automation equipment ( 9,200) and replacement of data processing equipment ( 3,500).

The provision under information technology ( 406,100) includes requirements of 368,600 for the acquisition of data processing equipment.

For this purpose, the Secretariat is to collate national cost data of major medical equipment, including the cost of medical equipment in the systems contract of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

No increase is requested in the provision of 20,500 provided for the biennium 2004 2005 for the maintenance of data processing and office equipment.

Half of that amount is needed in the first half of 2006 to support the final data collection for construction, equipment and the ring programme.

This type of data recovery can be performed by people without expertise in drive hardware, as it requires no special physical equipment or access to platters.

In the budget for 2006 2007, requests are made for the equipment, software, communication devices and contractual services required to support the data centre relocation project.

For example, in 1995 during hurricane Marilyn the National Media Lab assisted the National Archives and Records Administration in recovering data at risk due to damaged equipment.

UNOCI received equipment (vehicles, prefabricated buildings, communications equipment, medical equipment), personnel (contingent owned equipment inspectors, fire marshals, procurement officers, security officers) and air support.

In addition, the updated format for major medical equipment provided in the report of the Secretary General (A 59 292, annex II) to collect national cost data on medical equipment for review by the next Working Group should be approved by the General Assembly.

Compared with its predecessor, Meteor 3, the satellite has a longer service life (three years instead of two) and carries a wider range of improved data processing equipment.

Provision is made for other miscellaneous equipment such as cleaning equipment, fire fighting equipment, fogging machines for insect and pest control and security and safety equipment.
