(a) Consider the immediate repeal of, or amendment to, the Corporal Punishment Act and the Education Act

The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2004 is aimed at combating such instances.

Act No. 17,292 (Second Emergency Act), article 64, is an amendment to the Penal Code which deals with violation of health regulations.

The State party refers to sections 21 and 25 of the Fijian Citizenship Act (Amendment) Decree 2000.

The Criminal Code Amendment (Trafficking in Persons Offences) Act 2005 came into effect on 3 August 2005.

(c) Magistrates Code of Procedure (Amendment) Act of 1993, ensuring adequate payment of child maintenance by absent fathers.

Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2004 removing certain lacunae in the law to facilitate prosecution of the so called honour killings .

In addition, we call upon all States that have not yet done so to adhere to the Convention and its amendment, and, until such time as the amendment has entered into force, for all States to act in accordance with the object and purpose of the amendment.

The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2004 has been enacted specifically to combat so called honour killings (see para 25, Chapter XV).

The Australian Government enacted the Workplace Relations Amendment (Improved Protection for Victorian Workers) Act 2003, which took effect on 1 January 2004.

It feels that an amendment to the trauma policy outlined in Chapter 14.2.2 of the Aliens Act Implementation Guidelines 2000 would be reasonable.

This Ordinance is currently under the process of amendment to become an Act, to ensure more effective implementation (as of October 13, 2005).

In 1998, Congress adopted an amendment to the Organic Act of Guam allowing the Guam Legislature to elect its own Attorney General in 2002.

The Electoral Rolls Act, 1974 and the Electoral Rolls Rules, 1974 deal with preparation, annual revision, amendment and maintenance of the lists of voters.

However, consideration should be given to the possibility of including such measures in the counter terrorism act or submitting them as a proposed amendment to the Associations and Non profit Foundations Act already in force.

The lacunae in the Qisas and Diyat law have been removed to a large extent through the enactment of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2004.

Amendment

In England, a series of amendments extended the reach of the 1822 Act, which became the Cruelty to Animals Act 1835, outlawing cockfighting, baiting, and dog fighting, followed by another amendment in 1849, and again in 1876.

The Committee welcomes the Magistrates Code of Procedure (Amendment) Act of 1993 which revised the laws to ensure better provision of child maintenance by absent fathers.

So far, two extraordinary committees have been set up to deliberate on gender related legal instruments, which are the draft amendment to the Name Act B.E. 2505 (1962) and the draft Protection and Elimination of Domestic Violence Act.

Where, however, the adoption of one amendment necessarily implies the rejection of another amendment, the latter amendment shall not be put to the vote.

When an amendment to a proposal is moved, the amendment shall be voted on first.

In 1999 a different basis of categorization was introduced as a result of the amendment to the Leadership Code Act and the new Ombudsman Act and changes in the categorization of complaints have meant that cases previously categorized under discrimination are no longer reported.

Under the amendment to the International Business Companies Act (2003), the companies were allowed continued use of bearer shares, but were required to register them with an authorized and recognized custodian.

As of 10 June 2005, 190 Parties had ratified the Vienna Convention, 189 had ratified the Montreal Protocol, 177 had ratified the London Amendment, 166 had ratified the Copenhagen Amendment, 130 had ratified the Montreal Amendment and 92 had ratified the Beijing Amendment.

Amendment relating to financial disclosure

As of 5 October 2005, there were 190 Parties to the Vienna Convention, 189 Parties to the Montreal Protocol, 179 Parties to the London Amendment, 168 Parties to the Copenhagen Amendment, 134 Parties to the Montreal Amendment and 97 Parties to the Beijing Amendment.

Money Laundering Act No. 80 of 2002 was amended by Act No. 78 of 2003 (attachment 11). Act No. 78 added a new subparagraph 11 to the text of article 1 (C), which deals with the definition of financial institutions. The amendment makes it possible to add other persons, whether natural or juridical, by a decision of the Prime Minister.
