Actions are required on a range of issues to support established private sector firms.

Pollution respects no boundaries and cannot be tackled successfully in the absence of coordinated global action.

However, it cannot be a substitute either for a political agreement or for official legal action.

Otherwise, only talk and discussion will take place where action could take place and should do so.

This requires several measures

To this end, a number of steps have been taken

The Conference notes that nuclear suppliers could meet to consider joint or unilateral actions.

C. Priority areas for action

Without action, our promises are meaningless.

We acknowledge the efforts of those incredible women today, and we urge the Security Council to respect them by taking further action on this issue in the United Nations.

The annex provides an overview of the action items necessary to enhance the system, several of which are ongoing.

The United Nations and its funds and programmes should take concrete action to implement the recommendations of their oversight bodies and inform their governing bodies of any constraints which might hamper that task.

The right to privacy is a human right and an element of various legal traditions which may restrain both government and private party action that threatens the privacy of individuals.

In that regard, my delegation reiterates its proposal for interaction between the Council and the Assembly to facilitate complementary action on the problem.

Reference was made to the United Nations Millennium Declaration (General Assembly resolution 55 2), which acknowledged the need to take concerted action against terrorism.

Follow up actions have already been initiated in a number of areas.
