The present note includes information on the status of implementation for Parties and for participating States.

The status of participating States was defined in decision RC 1 13A and B.

The implementation, which UNDP leads, has been a gradual process and is done on a case by case basis.

The Implementation Committee may wish to take note of the information provided on the status of ratification.

In many cases, when the measures were identified, their status of implementation was not clear.

With regard to time frames, office holders and priorities for implementation, table V.1 shows the status of the 18 main recommendations made by the Board in its report, and table V.2 shows the status of all recommendations.

The Treaty on the Non Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, the Chemical Weapons Convention and the Biological Weapons Convention, and the other major arms control, disarmament and non proliferation agreements, particularly in the field of weapons of mass destruction, are all multilateral in character.

Pursuant to decision 8 COP.4, all other affected developing country Parties are expected to complete their programmes by the end of 2005.

A processor capable of simultaneous multithreading has only one execution unit ( core ), but when that execution unit is idling (such as during a cache miss), it uses that execution unit to process a second thread.

The Conference noted the valuable information provided on the status of implementation and agreed that technical assistance needs would be addressed under agenda item 6 (c).
