in gentleness correcting those who oppose him perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth

For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Yet God may turn ( even ) after this to whomsoever He please , for God is compassionate and kind .

Then afterwards Allah will give repentance to whomever He wills and Allah is Oft Forgiving , Most Merciful .

then God thereafter turns towards whom He will God is All forgiving , All compassionate .

Then Allah will , thereafter , relent toward whomsoever He liketh , and Allah is Forgiving , Merciful .

Then after that Allah will accept the repentance of whom He will . And Allah is Oft Forgiving , Most Merciful .

Then , after that , God will relent towards whomever He wills . God is Forgiving and Merciful .

Then ( after so chastising the unbelievers ) , Allah enables , whomsoever He wills , to repent . Allah is All Forgiving , All Merciful .

Then afterward Allah will relent toward whom He will for Allah is Forgiving , Merciful .

Then Allah shall turn clemently after that to whomever He wishes . Indeed Allah is all forgiving , all merciful .

Yet thereafter , Allah turns to whom He will . He is the Forgiving , the Most Merciful .

Then Allah will accept repentance after that for whom He wills and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful .

After that occasion God forgave those whom He wanted . God is All knowing and All merciful .

Then will Allah after this turn ( mercifully ) to whom He pleases , and Allah is Forgiving , Merciful .

then after that , God will turn in His mercy to whom He wills God is forgiving and merciful .

Again will Allah , after this , turn ( in mercy ) to whom He will for Allah is Oft forgiving , Most Merciful .

I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety nine righteous people who need no repentance.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

It will come upon them unawares confounding them , and they will not be able to keep it back , nor will they be given respite .

In fact it will suddenly come upon them , therefore shocking them , and they will not be able to repel it nor will they be given respite .

Nay , but it shall come upon them suddenly , dumbfounding them , and they shall not be able to repel it , nor shall they be respited .

Aye ! it would come upon them on a sudden and shall dumbfound them they shall not be able to avert it , nor shall they be respited .

Nay , it ( the Fire or the Day of Resurrection ) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them , and they will have no power to avert it , nor will they get respite .

In fact , it will come upon them suddenly , and bewilder them . They will not be able to repel it , and they will not be reprieved .

That will suddenly come upon them and stupefy them . They shall not be able to ward it off , nor shall they be granted any respite .

Nay , but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them , and they will be unable to repel it , neither will they be reprieved .

Indeed , it will overtake them suddenly , dumbfounding them . So they will neither be able to avert it , nor will they be granted any respite .

It will overtake them suddenly , dumbfounding them . They shall be unable to ward it off , and they shall not be respited .

Rather , it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them , and they will not be able to repel it , nor will they be reprieved .

The fire will suddenly strike and confound them . They will not be able to repel it , nor will they be given any respite .

Nay , it shall come on them all of a sudden and cause them to become confounded , so they shall not have the power to avert it , nor shall they be respited .

Indeed , it will come upon them suddenly and confound them and they will not be able to ward it off , nor shall they be reprieved .

Nay , it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them no power will they have then to avert it , nor will they ( then ) get respite .

Those who deny , having once come to faith , and persist in denial , will not have their repentance accepted , for they have gone astray .

How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried ( for mercy ) when it was too late for escape .

Indeed those who disbelieve after having accepted faith , and advance further in their disbelief their repentance will never be accepted and it is they who are the astray .

Many a generation We did destroy before them thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape !

Surely those who disbelieve after they have believed and then increase in unbelief their repentance shall not be accepted those are the ones who stray .

How many a generation We destroyed before them , and they called , but time was none to escape .

Verily those who disbelieve after they have believed and thereafter wax in infidelity , their repentance shall by no means be accepted . These ! they are the straying ones .

How many a generation have We destroyed afore them , and they cried when there was not time of fleeing .

Verily , those who disbelieved after their Belief and then went on increasing in their disbelief ( i.e. disbelief in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW ) never will their repentance be accepted because they repent only by their tongues and not from their hearts . And they are those who are astray .
