بعد وفاة شقيقها، لم تبقى نشطة سياسيا حتى عام 1965 عندما شاركت في الانتخابات الرئاسية ضد الدكتاتور العسكري أيوب خان، إلا أنها خسرت الانتخابات التمهيدية بسبب تزوير الجيش لها.
After the death of her brother, she continued to remain a prominent philanthropist, but did not remain politically active until 1965 when she participated in the presidential election against military dictator Ayub Khan, only to lose the primary because of election rigging by the military.
واذكر أيها الرسول عبدنا أيوب ، إذ ابتليناه بضر وسقم عظيم في جسده ، وفقد أهله وماله وولده ، فصبر واحتسب ، ونادى ربه عز وجل أني قد أصابني الضر ، وأنت أرحم الراحمين ، فاكشفه عني .
( Remember ) Job when he called to his Lord I am afflicted with distress , and You are the most compassionate of all .
واذكر أيها الرسول عبدنا أيوب ، إذ ابتليناه بضر وسقم عظيم في جسده ، وفقد أهله وماله وولده ، فصبر واحتسب ، ونادى ربه عز وجل أني قد أصابني الضر ، وأنت أرحم الراحمين ، فاكشفه عني .
And remember Ayyub ( Job ) , when he called his Lord that , Hardship has afflicted me , and You are the Most Merciful of all those who have mercy .
واذكر أيها الرسول عبدنا أيوب ، إذ ابتليناه بضر وسقم عظيم في جسده ، وفقد أهله وماله وولده ، فصبر واحتسب ، ونادى ربه عز وجل أني قد أصابني الضر ، وأنت أرحم الراحمين ، فاكشفه عني .
And Job when he called unto his Lord , ' Behold , affliction has visited me , and Thou art the most merciful of the merciful . '
