Ground transport

The road transport services have been broadly liberalized.

Road transport is also a major contributor to local air pollution and smog.

This is mainly caused by the use of air and road transport for tourism purposes.

Regarding the implementation of the Advanced Cargo Information System, ACIS, contacts have been maintained with the secretariat of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) to finalize the feasibility study for the implementation of a road tracker system in West African countries.
