It was pleased to note that results based budgeting was being used more widely and that a larger number of objectives, expected outcomes and results indicators had been formulated.

Activities and achievements

The IAEA's annual report gives us a clear and analytical picture of the broad range of significant results of the Agency's activities and its recent achievements in the fields of nuclear technology, safety, verification, security and management.

The Committee also acknowledged that results based budgeting is still at the early stages of implementation and that further improvements will be required to clarify to what extent the outputs contribute to the attainment of objectives and expected accomplishments.

Progress had been made through consensus with political sectors, civil society and citizens and results were already being seen in terms of public policies, social achievements, institutional and legal reforms, and macroeconomic indicators.
