I wanted to share these preliminary results.

Community health workers could be trained in a matter of months to extend basic health care throughout rural areas, which could then be better mobilized to fend off the debilitating results of future hurricanes.

In order to confirm the early results from the IBM study and to extend them to a variety of populations, six subsequent cross national studies have successfully been conducted between 1990 and 2002.

The independent expert presented the preliminary findings of this mission at a conference entitled Voices from the field local initiatives and new research on Central American youth gang violence hosted by the Pan American Health Organization on 23 February 2005.

Then the results obtained are compared with the expected results.
