My colleague and current Fed Governor Randall Koszner studied this episode and showed that not only stock prices, but also bond prices, soared after the Supreme Court upheld the decision.

Bond lending involves diversified groups of bond holders, including domestic residents, and can be issued under different jurisdictions.

The US Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Argentina was bound to honor its obligations to the holdout bondholders in the same proportion (namely 100 ) as the holders of the exchange bonds. It was that ruling that the Supreme Court recently upheld.

The bond channel doesn t work when bond yields are already low and the credit channel doesn t work when banks hoard liquidity and velocity collapses.

The US bond market agrees with me.
