The Advisory Committee is not convinced that a full two work months of consultancy services would be required.

The Committee invites the State party to take advantage of the technical assistance available under the advisory services and technical assistance programme of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights for the purpose of reviewing its laws and policies in a way that addresses the Committee's concerns set out above.

The Council considered the question of elections, nominations, confirmations and appointments at its organizational and resumed organizational sessions (agenda item 4) at its 2nd, 4th, 7th and 9th meetings, on 4 February, 31 March, 27 April and 9 June 2005, and at its substantive session (agenda item 1) at its 34th meeting, on 21 July.
