With that revision, the Swiss proposal was adopted.

The proposal should form the basis for future work following modification in light of the discussion in the Working Group as noted above, and with respect to the anticipated revision of draft article 76 on jurisdiction.

The proposed ISIC Rev.4 structure has 21 top level sections instead of the 17 contained in ISIC Rev.3.

The proposed revision is currently under review at the Senate.

The proposed revision was not accepted by the other sponsors.

The revision process was started by identifying general conceptual issues, defining the scope of the revision, elaborating and reviewing explicit proposals and finally updating the detailed structure and explanatory notes of the classification.

(c) To work towards providing internationally comparable data that complies with international methodological standards and definitions, such as the international standard industrial classification ISIC, Rev.3, or its upcoming revision, ISIC, Rev.4.

A user's guide is planned for the ISIC, Revision 4.

UNICEF will work with other United Nations organizations to complete the revision.

I hope that that revision will be acceptable to all Member States.
