And then the really one that looks bizarre on the outside, but really is actually a form of fear and inner critic is perfectionism trying to do something to the nth degree, not letting it go until it's absolutely perfect, maybe actually taking too long to do something, because you want it to be just right.

And I just feel like, especially adults, when we learn a language, we are such perfectionists, we want everything to be just right, and perfectionism is a really bad thing in language learning, because a language is a means of communication, it's a way to get to know new people and new cultures, and when you embrace this, it's okay to make mistakes!
