Sir Emyr Jones Parry (United Kingdom) Most important of all, the resolution we have unanimously adopted today responds to a request from the Government of Iraq, as set out by Prime Minister al Jaafari in his letter of 27 October.

Sir Emyr Jones Parry (United Kingdom) The United Kingdom voted against the draft Declaration on Human Cloning because of the reference to human life, which we consider can be interpreted as a call for a total ban on all forms of human cloning.

Sir Emyr Jones Parry (United Kingdom) Tonight, by this vote, the Security Council has acted to ensure accountability for the grave crimes committed in Darfur, and I hope to send a salutary warning to anyone intending to commit any further such atrocities.

Sir Emyr Jones Parry (United Kingdom) Like others, I am grateful to the Secretary General of his report (S 2005 88), to the Special Representative for his briefing and for the energy with which he is carrying out his tasks in Kosovo and to Mr. Cović for his intervention.
