The African Peer Review Mechanism enables each African country to assess the progress it is making towards the achievement of Africa's shared goals.

I also propose that a precise road map toward a common foreign policy on energy be created, which would indicate short , medium , and long term objectives, together with a specific timeframe for their implementation.

Let me conclude by reiterating the importance of the follow up process to the Monterrey Consensus and its impact on other development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals.
