The situation in the country since my last report has been calm and stable.

As I noted in my last report, UNMEE is ready to carry out similar activities in Eritrea.

My previous report included a number of challenges and recommendations to Governments and disabled persons' organizations.

However, in spite of those challenges, the country has improved noticeably since my last report.

In my previous annual report, I spoke of 2003 as a year of consolidation for the Department of Public Information.

By the time of submission of my report to the Council, I was still waiting for written confirmation of those practical arrangements by the Government of the Sudan.

Decides to consider the reports of the Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Guinea Bissau at its substantive session of 2005.

As indicated in my previous report, the Eritrea Ethiopia Boundary Commission has suspended its activities in the area.

In my previous report (PBC.20 3) I raised various matters regarding the capacity and methodology of the group.

The Committee recognized those very attitudes when it considered the combined fourth and fifth periodic report of Hungary in 2002.

The present report reviews the activities of UNMISET since my last report (S 2005 99), dated 18 February 2005.

Accordingly, I wish to record my appreciation for the co operation and assistance extended by the Director General and the staff of the organisation during my audit.

I am giving you my report six months ahead of that meeting so that your Governments have ample time to consider it.

The present report covers developments since my report of 1 September 2005 (S 2005 560).

In the concluding comments to the combined initial and second reports of Israel, the Committee had raised a number of concerns.

In my last report, I noted that the absence of dialogue between Ethiopia and Eritrea continues to be a missing element of the peace process.

This decision was communicated to the Security Council in my report on Darfur of 4 October 2004 (S 2004 787).

As my follow up report (A 59 765) sets out, the response has succeeded in some of the particulars, but it has not matched the epidemic in scale.

I must flag for the Council a very important issue related to the trials of multiple accused that is not found in my written report.

The Ethiopian Armed Forces maintained the dispositions that I described in my last report, which they continue to characterize as purely defensive.

The political situation in Sierra Leone has remained calm and stable since my report of 20 September 2005 (S 2005 596).
