The biennial resolution reflected a strong North South partnership and dealt with the opportunities and challenges related to mountains and mountain populations.

It is surrounded by mostly low mountains such as the Sudetes with its part Krkonoše, containing the highest point in the country, the Sněžka at .

Most of the forest is in the north, and much of the mountain is rocky, deforested, grassy and made out of limestone.

And I think of this as kind of a moral landscape, with peaks and valleys that correspond to differences in the well being of conscious creatures, both personal and collective.
