(b) Submission of the new consolidated report of the Secretary General to the Economic and Social Council rather than to the General Assembly

Moreover, the consolidated report on the work of the functional commissions should be used more effectively in the work of the Council.

The report has made suggestions for continuous improvement of both the financial and the administrative management of the secretariat.

The pre session working group examined the combined initial, second and third periodic report of Cambodia (CEDAW C KHM 1 3).

At the time this synthesis was being prepared, 46 national reports had been submitted by African countries, several of which were updates of reports submitted at the time of the second review.

The Consultative Committee endorses the distribution by UNIFEM of resources, as proposed in the finance report.

At the time this synthesis was being prepared, 18 reports had been received in which organizations give accounts of their activities in support of affected African country Parties.

The first phase report on governance and oversight is required by April 2006, and the final consolidated report on governance by 31 May 2006.

The consolidated draft document, including the provisionally agreed statement on scope, can be found in annex VII to that report (SAICM PREPCOM.2 4).

Work on the high level aggregation structures of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities, suitable for National Accounts purposes, was still in progress, with a proposal being considered at the time of the writing of the present report.

The report (E ICEF 2005 AB L.4) was introduced by the Comptroller and noted by the Executive Board without comment.

The Executive Board had before it the financial report and audited financial statements for the biennium ended 31 Dec 2003 (A 59 5 Add.2), which was introduced by the Comptroller.
