131. Decides not to reclassify a D 2 post to the Assistant Secretary General level for the Deputy to the Under Secretary General for Safety and Security

132. Also decides not to establish a P 2 post for the function of Internal Affairs Officer in the Department of Safety and Security of the Secretariat.

The results of the review of the level of the post of the Deputy to the Under Secretary General should be included in the comprehensive implementation report, and a review of the post of the head of the Division of Safety and Security Services should also be conducted in that context.

A P 3 post would ensure that aviation services are safely and effectively justified, determine aviation specifications and perform technical analyses relating to the selection of aircraft, airfield services and infrastructure.

25. Decides to establish the post of the head of the Division of Safety and Security Services at the D 2 level and to review the post in the context of the implementation report to be submitted by the Secretary General to the General Assembly at its sixtieth session

The post of Executive Officer for the Department had indeed been advertised under the administration occupational grouping, but the vacancy announcement had begun by indicating clearly that the organizational unit concerned was the Department of Safety and Security.

The 347 proposed temporary staff positions comprise 73 international staff and 274 national staff positions, inclusive of 15 national officers.
