Otherwise, the repetitive nature of our resolutions will only intensify and our own credibility will be damaged.

The time may come when the United Nations will simply not be able to meet its obligations, which will make it much more difficult to settle any conflicts and will also do serious damage to the Organization apos s credibility.

Any legislation or action aimed at undermining those institutions or impeding their activities constitutes a clear violation of that commitment and of the letter and spirit of the Declaration of Principles, and would seriously harm the smooth proceeding of the peace process.

The Joint Operations Unit (see paras. 71 and 72 above) will be comprised of one liaison officer from OAU, EU and the Commonwealth, with a small complement of three computer programmer assistants, one demographer and one cartographer.

We find it difficult, however, to understand the decisions taken by the European Union concerning reform of the sugar and banana markets, which will virtually destroy the Caribbean banana and sugar industries and will wreak havoc on vulnerable farming communities and dependent groups.

First, it will disrupt strategic balance and stability, undermine international and national security and do harm to the existing arms control instruments, in particular those related to nuclear weapons and missiles, thus triggering a new arms race.
