Being Palestinian is about remembering the place we came from, the place to which we are not allowed to return. Being Jordanian for us is about where the place where we ve grown up, our friends and family, and the life we ve built together here.

A priority concern for us is our close identity with Africa.

We want someone who reinforces our identity and tells us who we are.

The need to find a place to belong is the most powerful force in shaping who we are.

Our oceans and their resources provide a foundation for our coastal communities and play a key role in our identity as Canadians.

It s unfair that we should have to hide our Palestinian identify to serve an agenda that excludes us.

After all, as fans of the Wehdat refugee camp football club know, our Palestinian identity, and the fact that we are naturalised and not native Jordanians, is always used against us, and constantly pitted against an incomplete, exclusionary version of Jordanian identity.

Urban pride what we call civicism is a key feature of our identities today.

We want to build our own identities, our own fabric, create an open dialogue so that we share our ideas and share yours with us.

Why do we simply forget who were were?

We're being critical of the West, the perception of the West about our identity about the image that is constructed about us, about our women, about our politics, about our religion.

I have worked on these issues for so many years and even I haven t talked about some of these things, like how our identities are tied to our husbands , this honestly.

So I think women in our society are becoming leaders, because they realize that for their future generations, it's very important to maintain our cultural identities.

So, as we lose the context of our identity, it becomes incredibly important that what you share becomes the context of shared narrative, becomes the context in which we live.

This mission must also reflect a new politics that does not accentuate differences, but helps shape a new sense of who we are.

We are also marginalized when we are not allowed to express our sexual, religious or indigenous identity without fear for our lives.

And, as a psychologist, what excited me most was the idea that we would use what we learned in the virtual world about ourselves, about our identity, to live better lives in the real world.

Our little portion of oneness is given a name, is told all kinds of things about itself, and these details, opinions and ideas become facts, which go towards building ourselves, our identity.

And what I've found is that our little devices, those little devices in our pockets, are so psychologically powerful that they don't only change what we do, they change who we are.

A crisis of desire, as in owning the wanting desire as an expression of our individuality, of our free choice, of our preferences, of our identity desire that has become a central concept as part of modern love and individualistic societies.

But we can't deny that some may prefer to use one more than the other based on their ideologies and not only based on the one they find easier.
