The Council also elected, by acclamation, Mr. Martin Huslid (Norway), Mr. Lansana Kouyate (Guinea), Mr. Byung Yong Soh (Republic of Korea) and Mr. Oleksandr Slipchenko (Ukraine) Vice Presidents of the Council.

6. The CHAIRMAN said he took it that the Special Committee wished to re elect him as Chairman Mr. Acharya (Nepal), Mr. Batiouk (Ukraine) and Mrs. des Iles (Trinidad and Tobago) as Vice Chairmen and Mr. Goel (India) as Rapporteur.

At the 1st meeting, on 17 May 2005, the following members of the Special Committee were appointed Vice Chairmen of the seminar Crispin Gregoire (Dominica), Birhanemeskel Abebe (Ethiopia), and Albert Sitnikov (Russian Federation).

The Committee elected Mr. Robert Lloyd Wenman (Canada) Chairman, Ms. Pamela Mboya (Kenya), Mr. Stanley Kalpagé (Sri Lanka) and Mr. Hassan Azizogly Hassanov (Azerbaijan) as Vice Chairmen and Ms. Marjorie Ulloa (Ecuador) as Rapporteur.

2. At its 663rd meeting, on 2 February 1993, the Special Committee unanimously re elected Professor Ibrahim A. Gambari (Nigeria) as its Chairman, and Mr. Jayaraj Acharya (Nepal), Mr. Victor Batiouk (Ukraine) and Mrs. Annette des Iles (Trinidad and Tobago) as its Vice Chairmen.

With that goal in mind the Special Committee needed effective leadership and he therefore proposed that Mr. Gambari (Nigeria) should be re elected Chairman of the Special Committee Mr. Acharya (Nepal), Mr. Batiouk (Ukraine) and Mrs. des Iles (Trinidad and Tobago) should be re elected Vice Chairman and Mr. Goel (India) should be re elected Rapporteur.
