Following the exploratory contacts at Lusaka, my Special Representative, in consultation with the representatives of the three observer States under the quot Acordos de Paz quot , set the date and venue for the talks. He pursued his contacts with the Angolan Government and, by telephone and fax, with UNITA.

In January 2005, a delegation comprising the National Transitional Government of Liberia and UNMIL visited Sierra Leone in an effort to complete the arrangements for the reciprocal repatriation of Liberian and Sierra Leonean combatants.
