While chimpanzees are dominated by big, scary guys, bonobo society is run by empowered females.

Bonobos are, together with chimpanzees, your living closest relative.

Bonobos, like humans,

These are baboons at a watering hole.

And the monkeys don't want to be monkeys

It has also chimpanzees.

This is the world of wild bonobos in the jungles of Congo.

Now these monkeys don't think of themselves as monkeys.

And then the monkeys don't want to be monkeys.

But bonobos show us the other side of the coin.

For bonobos and humans alike,
