How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy?

How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.

Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I don't remember you if I don't prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.

Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

make my joy full, by being like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind

And now come I to thee and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

This is what I repeat to myself whenever the girl haunts me in my dreams, in my moments of joy, in my arguments about the future with the one I love.

He who has the bride is the bridegroom but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This, my joy, therefore is made full.

He that hath the bride is the bridegroom but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

And I wrote this very thing to you, so that, when I came, I wouldn't have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice having confidence in you all, that my joy would be shared by all of you.

And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
