While the General Assembly has yet to take action on the recommendations of the Advisory Committee reflected above, the recommendations have been taken into account to the extent that they can be specifically costed.

The Committee recognizes the importance of the tasks to be performed in view of the larger fleet now operating, which has increased by 50 per cent in the past year and is expected to grow further with the expansion of MONUC and as the mission in the Sudan reaches its anticipated level of operation.
