What should I write about today?

What will I write about today?

So I'll write it like this.

And I came up with an idea that I will write a cookbook.

I might write about a Muslim woman in one novel, and perhaps it will be a very happy story, and in my next book, I might write about a handsome, gay professor in Norway.

One day I will write for you about her death, her funeral, and my loss but today I wanted to introduce you to my mother alive.

Many left with nothing more than a small suitcase, not realising that they would be prevented from returning to their homes for almost two years. At the time, I lived in the occupied part of Aleppo. On an almost weekly basis I was called in for a different type of interrogation an experience I will write about one day.

One day I will write about the impact of this division, and how the regime succeeded in making us spite each other.

I could, after all, have written it on paper, by the light of a kerosene lamp. It seems I have lost the ability to write without hearing the sound of my fingers tapping on the keyboard.

So I said, Okay, if I have to do it I had a sabbatical. I said, I'll write about my research if there is no other way. And then I'll get to do my cookbook.
