Additional resources are required in order to provide adequate logistical and other operational support to the offices, and the P 4 is requested in that connection.

This exercise will be led by the Director of Operational Support as part of the implementation of the organization development plan commencing in 2006.

The Division also provides limited administrative support to offices of other United Nations entities located at the Vienna International Centre, such as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Office for Project Services, and to the United Nations Interregional Crime Research Institute located in Turin, Italy.

A Communications Officer (P 4) would be responsible for global oversight and management of public information operational support functions.

The office of the Director of Operational Support will take the lead in the preparation of those policies and procedures with the active participation of the Budget Division as required.

The Offices of Social Support Services address everyone who faces accumulated exclusion problems and is not covered by Welfare services or services for employment and training.

Support to these complex specialized information systems will be provided by the Executive Office, given the fact that they fall outside the scope of the Information Technology Services Division of the Office of Central Support Services.

The scientific personnel of the Offices of Social Support Services provide the following services
