So what I've been seeing today is there is a growing subculture of barefoot runners, people who got rid of their shoes.

For the entire period, Mr. El Derini was forced to sit on the floor, blindfolded, bound and barefoot.

Here, they can't do it with the kind shoes they're wearing, so they have to take their shoes off, get barefoot into the boxes, in this cold, and do that kind of work.
