On the basis of those consultations, I intend to submit another report to the Council outlining my recommendations for the Mission's future mandate.

Although there are some areas where the resolution does not match my recommendations, we in the Secretariat are prepared to fulfil our obligations.

The evaluation will begin in 2005 and I will submit my recommendations, based on the findings and recommendations of the evaluation, to the General Assembly at its resumed session in June 2006.

In conclusion, I hope the members of the Council will give serious consideration to the recommendations outlined above regarding the establishment of an integrated United Nations office in Sierra Leone and the provision of security support to the Special Court.

Should the Council approve my recommendations concerning the establishment of the United Nations integrated office in Sierra Leone, it would be my intention to seek resources for its funding from the General Assembly.

The Security Council endorsed my recommendations for an amended concept of operations and force level of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, including the downsizing of the military personnel and an increase in its police component.

It also presents my recommendations for continued international assistance to Timor Leste beyond 20 May 2005, in order to safeguard the considerable investment made by the international community so far.

Should the Security Council approve my recommendations with respect to the reinforcement of UNOCI, the additional resources for the operation of the mission will be sought from the General Assembly during the main part of its sixtieth session.

The findings of the assessment mission and my recommendations concerning the future of UNAMSIL and the continued United Nations presence in Sierra Leone following the withdrawal of UNAMSIL are provided in sections II, IX, X and XI of the present report.

I also outlined my recommendations on the role the United Nations can play to assist the parties in implementing their agreement and consolidating peace, as well as the crucial support required within the region and from the wider international community throughout the long implementation period to come.

The present report focuses on developments since my last report on 15 December 2004 (S 2004 969) and contains my recommendations in response to the Council's request, contained in paragraph 10 of resolution 1580 (2004), to conduct a review of UNOGBIS with a view to adjusting its capacities to meet the requirements of its revised mandate.
