I shall confine my comments here to the results of the summit.

I usually limit myself in my newspaper commentaries to my area of expertise, economics.

I have recently provided comments on a draft policy, which has been compiled by the Secretariat.

It seemed like every remark of mine was taken out of context in the press and blown up into a political controversy.

I am pleased to note that the Office of the Comptroller General has drafted a policy on fraud awareness and prevention on which I have also provided my comments.

I should like to conclude my remarks on the proposed programme of work and timetable by reminding delegations of the need to maintain the requisite degree of flexibility in the process of implementing the programme and timetable.

My comments must not be taken to mean that I am questioning the worthiness of the nations that seek those permanent seats or the sincerity and good faith of their efforts and those of the other sponsors of draft resolution A 59 L.64.
