The organization perceives itself as doing fairly well on most dimensions There is a general feeling of good management of partnerships and resources, especially the use of IT interface and management of available resources Leaders are personally involved in improvement of management practice There is a recognition of which areas are in need of improvement.

It noted the many improvements made to the Organization's processes, and the role played by information technologies in that regard.

Moreover, the UNIDO Secretariat should not begin implementing projects with regard to security enhancement before the budget proposal was approved.

The quality and commitment of senior management would be critical the European Union welcomed the improvements made in the resident coordinator selection process to ensure that the most suitable people were chosen.

Any future measures planned by the Secretariat with respect to security enhancement should be proposed only after consultations with and approval by Member States.

However, an amount of 92,836 was outstanding as at 31 March 2005, and invoices amounting to 48,324 were paid in connection with security enhancements.

We would like to request the Secretariat to review the data and assertions contained in the three paragraphs that mention Colombia and to recognize the positive improvements that Colombia has made during recent years.

Given the long standing nature of the Mission and its stability and efficiency, the Advisory Committee commended the noticeable improvements in the presentation of the results based budgeting framework and expected an update on the extensive three year Force modernization programme, which it also welcomed.

The Algerian delegation welcomed the improvements made to results based budgeting methods, particularly the introduction of results measurement and basic data that would make it possible to monitor progress achieved during the biennium, and the application of that method to executive direction and management activities.

Brazil welcomed the improvements noted in the working paper prepared by the Secretariat (A AC.109 2005 17), but regretted that the General Assembly resolutions on the need for comprehensive negotiations over the Malvinas Islands had still not been implemented.
