The interventions build on commodities and the related secondary agro processing industries with emphasis on food (e.g. fish, meat, dairy, vegetable oils) and non food (wood and non wood forest products, textiles and garments, leather and skins) products.

Carbon emissions can be reduced through increasing the use of wood (which is a renewable resource), either for durable wood products or for biofuel, in place of fossil fuels.

The use of wood products in place of materials that are associated with the release of large volumes of carbon dioxide could lead to significant net reductions in carbon dioxide emissions.
