Memorandum of understanding

Requests the Executive Secretary of the UNCCD and the CEO Chairman of the GEF in his capacity as CEO Chairman of a financial mechanism of the Convention to report to the Conference of the Parties at its eighth session on the implementation of the present decision.

The international community must recognize the importance of engaging communities in the promotion of religious and cultural understanding and of eliminating all forms of religious intolerance.

The memorandum of understanding and the letter of understanding emphasize international principles of voluntary return as well as Darfur specific agreements, and elaborate modalities for collaboration between the Government and its partners to ensure that return is in fact voluntary.
