Physical Education and Sports

In 1999, the first Republic Women's Games, dedicated to the 1,100th anniversary of the Samanid state, were held, and 610 women from 12 regions of the country took part in seven types of sports in the finals of the Games.

5. Urges the International Olympic Committee to devise a special programme of assistance for the development of physical education and sport for countries affected by conflicts and poverty

The embargo has had a very negative impact on the availability of the basic materials needed to develop the many existing physical education and athletics programmes.

It is now required by the Scottish Parliament for students to have two hours of physical education a week each school may vary these compulsory combinations.

In comparison to that, only 10 of women are students in areas such as mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, and less than 25 are involved in areas such as physical culture (sports), transportation, criminology studies, and mining.
