The issue has become a priority concern in financial management, and certifying officers have been instructed to be more diligent in reviewing cash contributions and financial projections.

In Jamaica, Silicon Caribe posted a list of international agencies accepting cash donations, as well as information on collection points for other donations in Kingston.

The financial medium term plan (see chapter VIII) provides more detailed information on projected contributions, expenditures, cash balances and liquidity.

To date, cash contributions to the Voluntary Fund to support the activities of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda amount to 10,230,665.

The Advisory Committee notes that as at 31 October 2005 total cash contributions to the Voluntary Fund amounted to 10,230,665 and that the level of the resources of the fund was 2,741,100. Extrabudgetary resources were used, inter alia, for supporting activities recommended by the Voluntary Fund Advisory Board, such as the enhancement of the archiving and record keeping systems, the outreach programme, the construction of a fourth courtroom (see para.

1.39 UNRWA's budget, funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions (cash and in kind), is subject to uncertainties in the timing and value of funding receipts.

And in Barbados, Cheese on bread posted news of a fundraising radiothon, along with the text of Prime Minister David Thompson's statement on Haiti.

In January 2004, following the separation of UNHCR payroll processes from the United Nations Office at Geneva and the subsequent direct receipt of United Nations regular budget cash contributions, UNHCR has decided to account for these contributions and expenditures in its financial statements, as this results in a more appropriate presentation.

Public donations in various provinces of our Kingdom currently total 80 million. In addition, the Islamic Development Bank has announced that it will extend credits totalling 500 million to assist those affected by the Asian earthquake.

While these have gone to both Republicans and Democrats, the donations are weighted to Republicans.

Thematic contributions are expected to continue to be an important component of the other resources contributions.
