Mr. Elnaggar (Egypt) said that, while he fully understood the explanations of the Acting Controller and the Chairman of the Advisory Committee regarding the motivation for the experiment, General Assembly resolution 58 270 required the Secretary General to inform the Advisory Committee periodically about action taken in the context of that experiment.

In Côte d'Ivoire, pursuant to the Secretary General's request, the Acting High Commissioner established an International Commission of Inquiry to investigate alleged human rights violations committed in connection with the march planned for Abidjan on 25 March 2004 by opposition parties (see S 2004 384).
