We celebrated the Revolution s anniversary with our hearts united as one.

We have just marked the two year anniversary of the fall of the previous regime in Iraq.

A few days ago, on 5 March, we celebrated the thirty fifth anniversary of the entry into force of the Treaty on the Non Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

Mr. Ray (Australia) A year ago we marked the important milestone of the tenth anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Now, in January, 2011, the revolution started, and life stopped for 18 days, and on the 12th of February, we naively celebrated on the streets of Cairo, believing that the revolution had succeeded.

When I speak about peace, democracy, solidarity and freedom I would like to recall that six days ago marked the thirty second anniversary of the occasion when a man gave his life defending peace, democracy and freedom.

At the same occasion, we celebrated 15 years of our national independence, which, as the Assembly will recall, was brought about by a long and bitter struggle waged by the people of Namibia under the leadership of the national liberation movement, SWAPO, with wide international support, and thus culminating in the implementation of Security Council resolution 435 (1978).

It is a third generation right that this Assembly recognized in resolution 39 11 of 12 November 1984, and it was reaffirmed by the States members of the Organization of American States (OAS) in the Reaffirmation of Caracas, when we commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of the adoption of the OAS Charter.
