The separability of treaty provisions was until comparatively recently considered almost exclusively in connexion with the right to terminate a treaty on the ground of a breach of the other party.

Article 105, paragraph 2, provides that the representatives of its Members and its officials shall similarly enjoy such privileges and immunities as are necessary for the independent exercise of their functions in connexion with the Organization .
