The Bolivian people has gone through difficult times recently and is selflessly and maturely reinvigorating its democratic process as an essential element of life in our Republic.

The public statements by the Commissioner General, who carried out his mandate selflessly and with dignity, did no more than express the real situation of Palestinian refugees.

Such behaviour does great harm to the distinguished tradition of United Nations peacekeeping, to the Member States that contribute troops to peacekeeping missions and to the reputation and honour of fellow peacekeepers who have served selflessly and to high purpose for decades.

Allow me to restate here Somalia's indebtedness and profound appreciation to those who selflessly helped us during the Somali National Reconciliation Conference, as well as to those who continue to help us in our current pursuit of a peaceful and well governed Somalia.

Yes, there is a need for us to find a cure for HIV, to find an effective vaccine for malaria, to find a diagnostic tool that works for T.B., but I believe that we owe it to those who willingly and selflessly consent to participate in these clinical trials to do this in a humane way.
