The programme stimulates the New Labour Culture to promote labour by the attainment of decent and well paid conditions of employment for society as a whole.

For instance, the Ministry of Labour arranges regular training programmes for labour consultants to understand psychology and provide advice to women workers on issues such as economic, social and political conditions, and labour laws.

They pointed out that labour conditions on board fishing vessels were in some cases analogous to slavery.

While there is variation in country specific conditions, job segregation between paid and unpaid labour, and within paid labour markets, continues to be globally pervasive.28 Gender differences in the labour market persist, even in the OECD countries, where women's participation in the labour force has been rising.

Political and cultural conditions in many developing countries constrained the extent to which women were involved in the labour force.

Article 106 of the Labour Act of 1997 provides for equal wage for work of equal conditions, professional skill and output.

Yet, some serious problems remain unresolved, including labour conditions, persons in distress at sea and incidents of piracy and armed robbery.

Article 15 of the 28 February 2004 Republic of Kazakhstan law on labour safety and protection specifies that the use of women's labour is prohibited on jobs that involve heavy physical labour and jobs with harmful (extremely harmful) and hazardous (extremely hazardous) working conditions.

3. Indigenous individuals have the right not to be subjected to any discriminatory conditions of labour and, inter alia, employment or salary.

In the light of those conditions, it is evident that the limited labour market has no place for urban or rural youth.

After the conflict is over, the authorities must try to restore speedily the basic conditions required for a properly functioning labour market.

It is prescribed by Article 7 of the Labour Code Conditions of employment contracts, which in comparison with labour legislation acts of the Republic of Latvia aggravate the situation of employees, shall not be valid .

The prohibition or restriction of women's labour in such sections is governed by the List of workplaces, professions and jobs that involve difficult and harmful working conditions and at which the use of women's labour is prohibited.

Women who left their countries of origin for better living conditions often worked in appalling conditions, and were more likely than men to be exposed to forced labour, sexual exploitation, forced prostitution and other violence.

(vi) The continued abduction of women and children by Murahaleen groups and other government militias and their subjection to forced labour or similar conditions

The Labour Inspectorate did comprehensive work in monitoring their situation and ensuring proper conditions of employment, including payment of at least the minimum wage.

A useful tool in this regard is the ILO SES labour market security index, which ranks countries on the basis of conditions for labour market security, taking specific account of the structure, levels and expectations related to employment.

According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), the living conditions of workers and their families in the Occupied Palestinian Territory continued to be extremely hard.

The establishment of strategies that guarantee decent labour conditions, provide for access to inexpensive medicines and spread new information and communication technologies are also needed.

It allows small and medium sized enterprises to absorb new technologies that increase efficiency and productivity and helps to improve employment opportunities and labour conditions.

These workers are subjected to conditions not dissimilar to forced labour, are insufficiently remunerated and are often unable to benefit from their right to rest.

It recognized that while both methodologies were based on the Flemming principle, they measured conditions of service in very different labour markets and office structures.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) participates in technical cooperation relating to work conditions and worker safety in mineral resource extraction, encompassing all levels of mining.

Some examples are the studies on child domestic labour in Guatemala and Peru, where a high proportion of indigenous girls was identified working under unacceptable conditions.

The Committee expresses its deep concern regarding children working in hazardous occupations such as mining, often in precarious conditions that fall short of labour safety standards.

Every individual has the right to working conditions that meet safety and hygiene requirements, to remuneration for labour without discrimination, and to social protection against unemployment.

19. A survey of the local labour conditions was undertaken by the United Nations Secretariat, and data on the cost of living in Laayoune were analysed.
