Last year, the Union concluded two Europol agreements, as well as an Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement.

These participants include the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Interpol, the World Customs Organization and Europol.

The Slovak Republic is also member of the Working Group on Terrorism (WGT) at the EU Council and of Europol.

Europol is performing a similar function with material derived from police work, and we are working to ensure synergy between these two efforts.

As for IPO an Advisory Committee of individual experts was created. IPO is managed by a Secretariat composed by UNICRI and EUROPOL representatives.

UNICRI acts as the coordinator of ten European countries and Europol, each one entrusted with a specific function in the execution of the project.

Moreover, agencies such as Europol and Eurojust will be similarly subject to greater parliamentary scrutiny, and the budgetary procedure will be simpler and more democratic.

The reports may contain security standards or recommendations underscored by high level experts in the field and re elaborated by UNICRI in cooperation with EUROPOL.

They cooperate mainly with partner intelligence and police services abroad, and also as part of the working group against terrorism within the EU Council and EUROPOL.

In addition Europol, Interpol, World Customs Organisation and the EU Commission have been invited to participate in the work of the OPC on a permanent basis.

We share information on incidents of trafficking in radiological materials with IAEA and cooperate with Europol and Interpol in joint meetings on illicit trafficking of nuclear and radiological materials.

Analysis carried out in collaboration with EUROPOL of the information exchanged during the meetings legislation and literature other documentation provided by experts and or institutions part of the IPO network.

In its 2009 intelligence assessment (the TE SAT Terrorism Situation and Trend Report), Europol concluded that Pakistan has replaced Iraq as preferred destinations for volunteers wishing to engage in armed conflict.

Through Europol and Eurojust, European police forces and judicial authorities have intensified cooperation, and ministers are preparing to grant law enforcement agencies of other EU countries access to national databases of DNA and fingerprints.
