Dower

If dissolution of marriage is demanded by the wife, she is not entitled to dower.

And give the women ( on marriage ) their dower as a free gift but if they , of their own good pleasure , remit any part of it to you , Take it and enjoy it with right good cheer .

If you desire to replace one wife with another , do not take any part of her dower back even if you have given her a treasure . Would you take it by slandering her and with manifest sinfulness ?

And if any of your wives deserts you to the Unbelievers , and ye have an accession ( by the coming over of a woman from the other side ) , then pay to those whose wives have deserted the equivalent of what they had spent ( on their dower ) . And fear Allah , in Whom ye believe .

According to Pakistani law, on dissolution of marriage, the wife is entitled to all the property that she has earned herself and also benefits from the property of the husband dower, maintenance for the iddat period i.e. 130 days, or in case of a pregnant wife, upto the delivery of the child, maintenance of the children in the custody of the wife.
