A depletable energy? Fossil fuel?

Pricing and taxation policies for petroleum should be restructured to reflect its true cost as a depletable resource, taking into account the social, economic and environmental concerns of consuming and also producing countries.

The excessive use of depletable energy resources and the lack of appropriate policies and measures for more efficient use of energy require that the issue of energy consumption be analysed and measures taken to increase efficiency in energy utilization.

When measured against the gross national product, the percentage of aid extended by the GCC countries to developing countries is greater than that provided by the developed countries, even though the economies of the GCC countries are based primarily on oil, a depletable resource.
