When we began this project, said Dena Bravata, one of the researchers, we thought that there would likely be some findings that would support the superiority of organics over conventional food.

First the water passes through a 20 micrometer interference (mesh or screen filter) filter to remove sand and dust particles, second, a charcoal filter (activated carbon) to remove organics and chlorine, third stage, a de ionizing filter to remove metallic ions.

It might be possible to provide metering for individual items of manufacturing equipment (e.g. an induction furnace) to detect frequency and duration of use or to monitor the purchasing of certain chemicals common to production and finishing operations, such as chlorinated volatile organic compounds.

3.10.1.6.1 A review of the medical literature on chemical aspiration revealed that some hydrocarbons (petroleum distillates) and certain chlorinated hydrocarbons have been shown to pose an aspiration hazard in humans. Primary alcohols, and ketones have been shown to pose an aspiration hazard only in animal studies.

Syria further asserts that these pollutants, combined with the presence of organics (particularly phthalic esters, n paraffins and alkyl IPA) in the external patinas, are evidence of pollution caused by burning oil and, therefore, probably a consequence of Iraq's invasion and occupation of Kuwait.
